BSES sometimes asks for a parapet shadow study above 2 kW in dense colonies. At exactly 2 kW it's almost always waived.

Register on the PM Surya Ghar portal (pmsuryaghar.gov.in) with your CA number and pick your DISCOM.
Sanctioned load check: most Delhi homes are at 3 kW or more, so 2 kW needs no load-enhancement filing.
BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna or Tata Power-DDL gives technical feasibility for 2 kW on your connection.
Installation by a DISCOM-empanelled vendor, then the net-meter application with the installation report.
DISCOM inspection and net-meter fitting; the system is commissioned.
After commissioning, the central subsidy is credited to your bank account through the portal. The Delhi state subsidy is claimed in the same flow under the 17 Sep 2026 notification.

What 2 kW means in Delhi

2 kW is the only Delhi size where both subsidies are still per-kW and uncapped: you get the full central slab for the first 2 kW and ₹26,000 for each kW from Delhi. Per kW, it is the most-subsidised size we install.

Worked example: about 240 units a month at ₹8/unit saves around ₹1,920 a month. On a net cost of ₹40,460, that pays back in about 1.8 years.
